Debra (Broussard) White

It is with great sadness that the family of Debra Broussard White announces her peaceful passing in her home on May 30, 2023. 

 Debra was born on December 7, 1950.  She was a native and lifelong resident of New Iberia.

 In 1969 Debra married the love of her life Butch White. She was a loving and devoted wife to her husband for 54 years. Her love for her family was immense and selfless. Debra had great compassion and love for all animals. She openly welcomed all of those in need of care into her home.

 As a kind soul devoted to her Christian Faith, Debra was nonjudgmental and gave generously of her time, love, and care to countless friends and family members. Her energy was unlimited and so was her beautiful spirit that she shared with so many when they were in need of inspiration.

 In her free time, the hobbies that Debra enjoyed included painting, working in her yard, and walking her dogs.  She absolutely loved decorating her home, and equally loved decorating and redecorating the homes of many others.

Debra is survived by her adoring husband James W. "Butch" White; brothers, Robert Simon Broussard, Jr. (Norma), of New Iberia, and Michael Wayne Broussard (Letrice) also of New Iberia; sister, Mary Katherine Broussard  Durkes (Rickie) of New Iberia; niece reared as her daughter, Ruth Anne White Von Dette (Rob) of Cookeville, TN, and numerous nieces and nephews.

 Preceded in death by her father Robert Simon Broussard, Sr., her mother Mary Louise Gonzalez Broussard, and her brother Edward Gene Broussard.

 She will be greatly missed and will forever live on in the hearts of those that knew and loved her. The Broussard family would like to express their gratitude to Heart of Hospice for the loving care provided to Debra and the kind and dedicated support provided to her family.

 Family and friends will gather at a later date to celebrate Debra's life.
