Gerald Peter Meyers

New Iberia – A visitation will take place for Gerald Peter Meyers, 63, who passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at Ochsner Lafayette Medical Center. 

He spent most of his life working in Construction as a home builder.  Gerald enjoyed fishing, gardening, watching his favorite old westerns on television, gardening and telling stories to his family and friends. 

He loved being with his family and friends.  His most cherished time was spent as a devoted and loving father to his daughter Casey. “Pop” loved and adored his grandchildren just as they adored him.  He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his daughter Casey David (Corey) of New Iberia, brothers Glenn Meyers (Pam) and Brad Meyers of New Iberia.  His sisters Paula Meyers Sanders (Kendall) and sister Brenda Meyers all of New Iberia.  Grandchildren Jasmyne Doris David, Isaiah David, Jericho David and Eli David of New Iberia and many nieces and nephews.

Gerald is preceded in death by his parents, Anthony “Coon” and Doris Meyers and his brother Wayne Meyers.

Pallbearers will be Isaiah, Jericho and Eli David, Dustin, Brandon and Logan Meyers

Honorary Pallbearers will be Brad Meyers, Michael and DeJean Broussard and Skyler Meyers.

The family requests that visitation be observed on Monday, April 3, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.  A rosary will be recited by the New Iberia Men’s Rosary Group at 10:30 a.m.
