Jorge Humberto Angel
December 7, 1947 ~ December 9, 2023 (age 76) 76 Years Old
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023, for Jorge Humberto Angel (76), who passed away at his home on December 9, 2023, surrounded by his loving and adoring family. Jorge was born in his home country of Guatemala to his parents Efrain Angel and Candelaria Carrera on December 7, 1947.
He relocated to the United States in 1993 and worked as an auto mechanic for many years. Jorge was a passionate fan of Club Social y Deportivo Municipal, also known as Municipal or Los Rojos, which is a Guatemalan professional football club based in Guatemala City. They compete in the Liga Nacional, the top tier of Guatemalan football, and play their home matches at the Estadio El Trébol.
Music was also a passion of Jorge’s. José José, also known as El Príncipe de la Canción (The Prince of Song), was his favorite Mexican singer of romantic songs. Jorge was well known amongst his family and friends for wearing hats, having a great sense of humor and for being a very loving and caring father, grandfather, father-in-law, and friend.
Survivors include his daughter Dalila Angel (Josue Castro) of New Iberia; grandchildren, Mercedes , Jorge and Brandon Castro all of New Iberia and his best friend who was more of a brother José Rodolfo Pleitez.
Preceded in death by his parents Efrain Angel and Candelaria Carrera.
On Saturday, December 16, 2023, the service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will begin after the service until 7:00 p.m. at Colligan Crematory and Funeral Services located at 121 Park Center Drive, Broussard, LA. Father Randy will be the Officiant. The rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. by José Rodolfo Pleitez.
