Lavina Agnes (Derouen) Pepper

New Iberia – Lavina Derouen Pepper, 67, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 30, 2023, surrounded by her loving and adoring family. Her departure created a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her beautiful spirit will continue to live on in their cherished memories.

Lavina Derouen Pepper, a beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend was born on July 19, 1956, to her parents UL and Beulah Derouen.

She was a dedicated lady who loved spending time with her family, enjoyed cooking, doing puzzles, Mardi Gras parades, and playing Booray.   

Lavina will be dearly missed by those that survive her including her husband of 13 years, Randy Pepper; daughter, Robin Trahan (Chris); sons, Mac Sonnier (Sunny), and Nicki Sonnier (Lauren Durocher); 11 grandchildren, Scott, Shaye, Jayden, Isaiah, Tyler, Mac, Zackary, Ethan, Riley, Reagan, and Quinn; 3 great grandchildren Delilah, Drae',and Anna- Marie; brother, Ricky Derouen(Jeanette); sisters, Lorena Breaux (John), and Sandra Tran (Hoa).

Preceded in death by; parents UL and Beulah Derouen; son, Rusty Sonnier; brothers, UL Derouen, Jr., Elwood Derouen, Sherwood Derouen, and Raywood Derouen. 

Family and friends are invited to gather to share fond memories and appreciation of Lavina's life at Greene Funeral Home in New Iberia on Friday, November 3, 2023,  from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.  A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 P.M. by the Men's Rosary Group of New Iberia.
