Mrs. Phyllis passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at Our Lady of Lourdes Heart Hospital in Lafayette, LA.
Phyllis enjoyed gardening and was so excited when the hummingbirds stopped by to visit and feed on her flowers. She and her husband Carroll enjoyed camping, fishing, and the time they spent with their children and grandchildren. She was a housekeeper for 30 years and was driven to clean and organize when she visited relatives especially her brother Alphonse, who was also her dining out partner. She was the fourth child of thirteen. She was a natural caregiver who took on the role of mother, teacher, and highly creative playmate. When her siblings were young, she kept empty cans and bottles to open her grocery store for the little ones to do their shopping. She was a faithful and caring wife who selflessly took care of her husband Carroll for months through the duration of his illness. Phyllis was a wonderful and thoughtful mother, grandmother, and friend. All of her grandchildren anxiously awaited her knock on the door to give them their birthday card with a little something special inside.
